Pretty quickly, she realized that a little elbow room never hurt anyone, and getting sick of anthrax scares in the CTA, she moved back to Texas to settle down as a graphic designer. There, the skies at night were big and bright, the WalMart greeters were smiling, the slow-smoked BBQ was tender and beer was always ice cold. Still, something was missing. So, naturally, she fled to Canada. With</span><span style=";font-family:Gotham;font-size:100%;" > a stable career designing drugstore inserts, </span><span style=";font-family:Gotham;font-size:100%;" >and a new puppy,</span><span style=";font-family:Gotham;font-size:100%;" > Megan thought she’d fulfilled her destiny. She made him marry her. He took a job in Jersey and coaxed her back down to the states, using circular logic and puppy dog eyes.<br />So, here’s Megan today, perfecting her Jersey Girl accent, painting 7 days a week, drinking mid-range scotch and taking diligent notes for efficient subway routes.</span> </p><p><br /></p><p><span style=";font-family:Gotham;font-size:100%;" ><b><u>ARTIST’S STATEMENT: MEGAN GÜLICK</u></b></span><br /></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Gotham;font-size:100%;" >The three painting series, “Battered Bunnies,” “Barnyard Buddies” and the “Fresh Fish,” are character studies for episodes of the Granny Ninja graphic novel I am currently developing. Ashley responded to a Model Mayhem ad that was posted at 10:00pm before the day of the shoot as did Steph. She said she would come and she did. Sometimes when we trust websites and communicate over the internet, there will be times people do not show. Don't take it personally, people just suck. SO Ashley showed up and we jumped right into some fun ideas... Steph was the first one to start throwing ideas out and withing 45 minutes of having our first model there, I realized I had found a true artist.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho6QyqdkRDDYrXM7QfEG4V85T7uBpy39JzDMsuyEEu4ydoWSb18ksY-OylOXIlAwb_11fLfGyo3USUNYMk59DiLVNUI2iovntnhZF0vgVocfDQQgIoT7Cmc__-f9DNUg9F0iQW4FHhsqje/s1600-h/IMG_3046web.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 235px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho6QyqdkRDDYrXM7QfEG4V85T7uBpy39JzDMsuyEEu4ydoWSb18ksY-OylOXIlAwb_11fLfGyo3USUNYMk59DiLVNUI2iovntnhZF0vgVocfDQQgIoT7Cmc__-f9DNUg9F0iQW4FHhsqje/s320/IMG_3046web.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280603911893798130" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMhYYi7pEHjFAhZ8dQuW-EPTP7RUACvvBWy4u1ClszERo_IHe176QucrxsRVSk0B5jV84QhWhzpoVAB6tm1kYm4qs8nucm2pYNNcVE6O1jSLtwLO3yeHBVNqDkd0lDIB9EKk6RYwaJ_8I8/s1600-h/IMG_2930bweb.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 229px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMhYYi7pEHjFAhZ8dQuW-EPTP7RUACvvBWy4u1ClszERo_IHe176QucrxsRVSk0B5jV84QhWhzpoVAB6tm1kYm4qs8nucm2pYNNcVE6O1jSLtwLO3yeHBVNqDkd0lDIB9EKk6RYwaJ_8I8/s320/IMG_2930bweb.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280603908212873746" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiI1JFY2HBDCiYNeHIh02dXdQBafaG5eSBq2QkkfICacoC1zkkG79Z5jlLeCAJSVFEgHAYB9ExH1wYueyeuuNm-TaVsCu5Q62iddeqz2VcPp8qR5egInqODPF-4LZ1bRGYKBNg3UaPMWyGV/s1600-h/IMG_2770web.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 239px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiI1JFY2HBDCiYNeHIh02dXdQBafaG5eSBq2QkkfICacoC1zkkG79Z5jlLeCAJSVFEgHAYB9ExH1wYueyeuuNm-TaVsCu5Q62iddeqz2VcPp8qR5egInqODPF-4LZ1bRGYKBNg3UaPMWyGV/s320/IMG_2770web.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280603904317265266" border="0" /></a><br />Tara Thurber, our in house madwoman, is known in Hudson County for promoting artists as well as curating in Jersey City based locations. For the past 6 years this studio has housed some great photographers. During 2007 the team realized that Hoboken as well as Jersey City was becoming a new hot spot for up and coming artists. Paul Vincent Studios wants to create a place where artists come to create and show their art. <br /><br />With 1000 sq ft of space located in a giant factory, PVS offers a make up/changing room, a recreational lounge, in house computers and technical staff, lighting equipment and grip, seamless, location spots around and within the factory (with a staff member) , and now being offered, a gallery space. PVS will now also offer itself as PVG ( Paul Vincent Gallery). With our new curator, Tara Thurber, the space will also double for art shows, viewings, film screenings, script readings, art classes, and much much more.<br /><br />If you have any questions, or comments please contact us at paulvincentstudios@gmail.com.<br />More to come..<br /><br /><br />v.Paul Vincent Studioshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00577082134501295009noreply@blogger.com0
